Park Information

Whether you’re a regular here at Lakemont Park or preparing for your first visit, you’re bound to have some questions about what to bring, where to park, or even how to pay. Below you’ll find the answers to just about any question you could have as a visitor.

Calendar and Hours of Operation

During the regular summer season gates will be open at 8am for walkers. Please see the calendar for operating hours.

Some rides may have to temporarily close earlier or later based on events and/or weather conditions.

Some rides may close before the designated closing time.

Waterpark closes at 7 PM

Paddle Boats close at 7:45 PM

Train closes at 9 PM

Directions and Parking

Free parking is available next to the Park, as well as in the parking garage, which is shared with Galactic Ice and the Altoona Curve. During an Altoona Curve baseball game a fee may be charged. Handicapped parking is available in front of the Park’s entrance.

Guest Information

Pennsylvania Ride Safety Act #1994-58 requires that riders must obey all warnings and directions regarding any ride and must behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others. Failure to comply is cause for immediate dismissal from the Park without a refund.

Smoking Policy

Lakemont Park is a NON smoking facility. Smoking, e-cigs and vapes are not permitted in the park.

Rain Checks/Refunds

Rain checks will only be given if the Park is forced to close for the day due to inclement weather. Rain checks will be given at the Park’s Administrative Office and customers must turn in that day’s wristband to receive a pass to return another day. No cash refunds will be given.

Grills

Grills are only permitted in the Park with paid picnic pavilion reservations and prior approval of Park management.

Military Discount

Lakemont Park offers a Military/Veteran Discount on All Day Unlimited Ride, Splash and Play passes. This is valid for the Military Service Member and one family member (Service Member and Guest must be present at the time of purchase).This applies to both Active Service Member and Veterans of our Military. Please bring military I.D. or proof of service.

Credit Cards

Visa, MasterCard, Discover Network, American Express & Mobile Payments including but are not limited to Apple Pay, G Pay & Samsung Pay, are accepted at Park ticket booths and food stands.

Meeting Place

Please designate a meeting place for your group when you arrive. If a member of your party becomes separated from the rest of the group, please come to the Administrative Office. We will make every effort to help you find the lost member of your group. We can not make announcements over the public address system.

Pet Policy

Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted within Lakemont Park.

Attire

Shirts, shoes, and pants/shorts are required. Bathing suits are permitted in the Waterpark only. Revealing or offensive clothing is not permitted. Offensive clothing includes t-shirts with offensive language or pictures. Failure to comply with this policy will result in removal from the Park. All children wearing diapers while using the Waterpark must wear swim diapers, which may be purchased in the gift shop at the waterpark.

Photography & Media

By entering upon the grounds of Lakemont Park, One grants permission to Lakemont Park the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs which may be included for editorial trade, advertising, social media, and any other purpose and in any manner and medium; and to alter the same without restriction for the purpose of promoting Lakemont Park.

Quiet Time

Lakemont Park supports families who have children with autism and other special needs. We offer a sensory-friendly “Quiet Time” every Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children will get to experience the tranquility of the park, while enjoying all of the main attractions. We realize that some of the sounds can be stimulating for any child, so our mission is to create a time that allows all children to enjoy themselves.

Mother's Comfort

Mother’s Comfort is located at the entrance to the Park. Mother’s Comfort is air-conditioned and filled with all the necessities of baby care, including diapers, wipes, and sunscreen.

Lockers/Changing Area

Lockers are available for daily rental at The Treehouse Waterpark. Changing areas are also available at the waterpark.

Rules and Policies

No skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, or roller skates are permitted within the Park. Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted within the Park.
Lakemont Park NEW Smoking Policy: Lakemont Park is a NON smoking facility. Smoking, e-cigs and vapes are not permitted in the park.
Alcoholic beverages are permitted within reserved picnic pavilions only.
All non-swimmers and children must wear life jackets while riding the paddle boats.
Some rides and attractions have height restrictions, which must be obeyed for the safety of all guests. Please see height requirement information on this website.
Firearms are not permitted within Lakemont Park.

Group Reservation Policies

Regular ticket rate will be charged if a minimum of 20 passes are not purchased.
Unlimited Ride, Splash, & Play passes do not include the batting cages.
All functions are tentative until deposit is received. Deposits are refundable up to 21 days prior to function.
Each group is responsible for any damages done to the Park’s premises during the time of the function.
Lakemont Park is not responsible for any lost or unclaimed items left at the Park.
Group tickets may be picked up on the day of your function at the administrative office or in advance with prior notice.
Organized groups may not bring outside caterers into the park.
Grills are only permitted in the park with paid picnic pavilion reservations and prior park approval.
Alcoholic beverages are permitted within picnic pavilions only.
Vehicles are only permitted in designated areas behind the group picnic pavilions. Each group will receive 2 parking permits. Only vehicles with parking permits are allowed to remain in the park during park operating hours. Group vehicles must enter/exit through PNG field VIP lot.
